After a restful half term, Azure class have enjoyed the return to learning, kicking off the week with an exciting launch ‘From Farm to Fork’. We explored the different types of farming in the U.K. and then identified where in the U.K. products were produced using atlases to help us. This launch made us reflect on where our food actually comes from and it’s journey from the farms to our plates! We look forward to analysing this in more detail.
We thoroughly enjoyed testing different types of circuits in science to see if our predictions would be correct. Through a range of different circuits, we noticed that more batteries made the bulb in our circuits shine brighter and the switches we made in the previous lesson stopped the electric current. It was amazing to see the class so engaged in their learning, eager to find out more and experiment.
In P.E. we had our first lesson on our new topic of gymnastics. After discussing what we need to do to be able to balance, the children worked fantastically in pairs inventing new ways to balance with their partner. They listened carefully and were creative in how to both balance at the same time and hold their pose.
Our first music lesson was full of excitement after discovering we would be using the ukuleles. We listened carefully and learnt two chords – C and A minor. I was extremely impressed with the two songs they had learnt by the end of the first lesson! Watch this space!
