We all went to sleep at 9pm last night as we felt quite tired. After a long sleep we were up at just after 6am and were out on the farm shortly after. Group 1 fed the pigs, Group 2 the poultry and Group 3 the cows over at Bridgetown Farm. We were then ready for our breakfast, we had toast, cereals and bacon with eggy bread.
The sun came out and we began our tasks for the rest of the day. The children want to tell you some of the things they have found out about during their activities today, here goes:
Did you know: Eric the horse does not like to be touched on the face, if you do he could kick out. Eric is also not well, he has to have medication every day and extra food to keep his weight up
Did you know: the cows here used to have horns, but they chop them off at a young age so they don’t fight
Did you know: that melons grow in England?
Did you know: that lambs get sold when they are under 1?
Did you know: that pigs are with pig for 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days?
Did you know: that pigs make 20 different sounds when they eat?
Did you know: that we collected almost half a tonne of apples today?
Did you know: there is an edible flower grown in the garden here, it smells, you can with it and it has medicinal purposes – can you guess what it is?
