The children are enjoying our ‘Once Upon a Time’ topic, we have met Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Oseibo from The Leopards Drum, Goldy Luck from Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas and we are only half way through our topic!

We have retold the story of Goldilocks through props and porridge, the story of Oseibo by making our own leopard masks and drums, just recalling a few activities. Nursery were also treated to seeing and playing a large African drum, which was kindly bought in by a nursery child for us to explore. We listened to the different sounds that can be made from the large drum which was just like Oseibo’s and a smaller drum. We also enjoyed dancing along to the drum beats.

This week, we are learning all about Lunar New Year. We would like to thank one of our parents for kindly donating decorations and gifts for the class to use and explore. We are all looking forward to Friday, when we will be celebrating with our own dragon dance and food!
