This term in turquoise class, our topic is ‘Source to Sea’ where we will be learning about states of matter and the water cycle in science, and rivers in geography. We began our new English and whole class guided reading text yesterday called ‘What a Waste’ and we will be using it to find out about different types of pollution, specifically water pollution. We think that it is disgraceful how people just dump their rubbish into our oceans so we are going to write a persuasive letter to human kind, explaining to them why they should show more respect to our waters.
Today, we began our Science learning with a launch lesson. We learnt about solids, liquids and gases. Solids do not change shape or volume. Liquids change to the shape of its container and gases travel far and wide into our atmosphere. I bet you don’t know what ketchup is? It’s a non-newtonian fluid, which a member of our class taught us about.
