In English, Copper class has been learning about a Japanese myth called ‘The Goblin of Adachigahara’.
We’ve enjoyed learning new vocabulary, using semi-colons and gruesome descriptions in our work to predict what is in the forbidden room. After this piece of writing we will go onto write our own ending of the story, using fast and slow suspense to create tension for the reader.
In reading we have been reading Anthony Horrowitz’s ‘The Phone Goes Dead’. The suspense has made us eager to read on and predict what’s going to happen next. We have loved looking at Horrowitz’s style of writing to create suspense.
In maths we have been doing FDP (fractions, decimals and percentages). We’re now on percentages; we are finding equivalent fractions and decimals. We have been converting fractions, percentages and decimals.
I have been really impressed with the class’s resilience and positive attitude towards their maths work, keep it up!
In Science, we have been learning about light. Specifically, what is a light source and how we see light. We have made some fantastic posters to display our learning and look forward to exploring the topic further!
