We have had a fantastic couple of weeks in Coral Class. The children completed a DT project on ‘smoothies’. The children spent time looking at different fruits from around the world. They identified and classified them according to their size, shape and colour. They then had an opportunity to taste the different fruits so that they could think which fruit combinations would be the best for their smoothies.

The children worked in small groups to invent the smoothie of the year by creating new fruit combinations. Thereafter, the children cut the fruit and blitzed it to make their smoothies which they tasted and rated.

The children have also enjoyed looking at teen numbers and making numeral connections. We are currently comparing the similarities and differences between explorers from the past and present.
