This week in English, we are going to be writing our own 5 part story based on Pie Corbett’s ‘The Caravan’. Today, we began by writing the opening and the first part of the build up where we had to use dialogue to show the parent warning the main character to stay away from the dangerous setting which could be an abandoned warehouse, cave or an old railway.
In Maths, we were introduced to the bus stop method to help us divide 3 digit numbers by a 1 digit number. We need to use our knowledge of our times table facts and when the number that we are dividing is not a multiple of the number we are dividing by, then we need to carry the remainder to the next column.
For topic, we have been doing lots of Geography in preparation for our trip to the River Pool. We will be looking out for different parts of a river and we will be discussing, ‘How do rivers change over time?’ which is our depth enquiry question for our topic, ‘From Source to Sea.’
Linked to our Geography learning about rivers, we have also been learning about the water cycle in Science, bringing together our knowledge of states of matter, which we learnt about earlier on in the term.
