Amber class children were excited about the launch of our new topic ‘Let it Grow’! 

We came in at the start of the week to find a massive, bright green, healthy bean stalk growing in the Year 1 corridor.  It was really tall and had huge leaves and lots of things growing around it. It went right up to the ceiling! We also discovered massive giant footprints around the corridor up to Miss Magee’s office.

We were initially scared and worried …. we then realised this was a huge beanstalk which would lead to where the giant actually lived. 

In science we learnt the scientific names for different parts of a plant, tree and flower. As the weather has been so pleasant this week we went on a spring walk and went to our school garden to look at the plants and flowers growing. We later drew diagrams of plants and a tree.
