Lavender Class have had a fantastic start of term. During our launch, we got to enjoy three different activities based on our topic this term, ‘Out of this World’. We identified meteorites, looking at the structure and colour, and made some to eat; we looked at the size and order of planets in our solar system; and worked in teams to create a moon lander that would successfully allow ‘astronauts’ (marshmallows!) to land on the ‘moon’s’ surface!
In D.T. we have been practicing our stitches – both running and blanket – to get ready to design and then make our own planets out of felt.
We are studying a new book in English called ‘The Watertower’ by Gary Crew. It is full of mystery and we are intrigued to find out what is going to happen to our two protagonists – Spike and Bubba.
In P.E. with Mr Gibbs we are playing Cricket. We have been looking at batting and bowling this week, practicing the skills we need to be both a batter and a fielder. It’s been great fun so far and we can’t wait to play some matches!
