The children have settled back into routine for the final term in Year One. The children have read and compared the traditional tale ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ and a modern adaptation of the book called ‘Goldilocks and just the one bear.’ The children found it hilarious because it has a grown up ‘baby bear’ and ‘Goldilocks’.
Our topic theme this term is ‘City to Seaside’ where we will be comparing human and physical features of both settings and debating which they would prefer to live by.
The children have been learning some important life skills on money – recognising and coins and notes, comparing coins and adding and subtracting from a total value.
As part of the 75th ‘Windrush Anniversary’ the children read the adapted story by Floella Benjamin ‘Coming to England’. They then created some artwork of sea waves the boat would have travelled in using the skills and techniques they have learnt this year.
