In Cobalt Class we have been doing amazing learning and work!
In English we started reading “The King who banned the dark” by Emily Haworth-Booth. We discussed the phrase “with great power comes great responsibility” and the negative impact it can have on others when we are irresponsible with power. We discussed the pros and cons to banning the dark and the implications it can have to the King’s kingdom. This week we will be planning and performing our speech in role as the King.
In Maths we have been rounding 4-digit numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. We have demonstrated resilience, perseverance and great teamwork during our lessons. We are now looking at negative numbers, identifying patterns and comparing negative numbers.
In the afternoons we have been busy investigating a number of simple circuits. We have discussed the benefits of electricity as well as the dangers and created posters. We also looked at a number of circuits and discussed whether we thought the lamp would light up and why it did or did not light up. We have also been looking at art work by Oliver Jeffers. We have been experimenting how to create different shades of a colour using watercolour.
