Gold class have been scientists this week! In pairs we had to make a prediction as to what material would be the best conductor to keep Mr Bailey’s tea warm for the longest. We tested our hypothesis by layering a paper cup with different materials and then checking the temperature of the tea at minute intervals. We found that foil was the best material to keep Mr Bailey’s tea the warmest!
In English we have been using fronted adverbials in our writing to describe what is happening in a scene in our class text ‘Tail point Charlie.’
In History we have been learning about the different types of historical sources and asking questions about them.
Gardening has been fun this week as we have been planting baby onions which we will have to test our patience with as we can’t harvest these until July next year!
In Art we have started our ‘Take One Artist’ week and created sketch book pages on the wonderful abstract expressionist artist Helen Frankenthaler. We have been exploring methods of abstract painting to create our own artworks soon. We have all really enjoyed our learning this week!
