Green Class have really been enjoying our new topic “Quakes and Shakes”.
In Geography, we have been learning about the structure and location of volcanoes and looking at the reasons people might choose to live near them. We even made our own volcanoes and used household ingredients to make them erupt!
In English, we have been enjoying a book called ‘Winter’s Child”. We discussed different kinds of wishes and came up with our own compassionate wishes for the grandmother in the story. We are now writing a non-chronological report about volcanoes and can’t wait to share them with the rest of the class.
We have begun our annual “Take One Artist” project focussing on the art of Helen Frankenthaler, an abstract impressionistic artist from New York. We have created some really beautiful works of art using large brush strokes and washes of cool and warm tones.
