This term, Cerise Class started a new topic called ‘We are Superheroes!’ The children were able to independently sequence the story of Supertato By Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. They carefully cut each picture out and placed it in the correct order. They also created story maps and drew and labelled the hero – Supertato and the villain – Evil Pea.
The children have been innovating their own imaginative ideas through drawing and through play. “This is a superhero drawing. It is about a superhero who saves the day.” “I am a vet who is saving all the animals!”
In Design Technology, the children were asked to: think about, design, and then make a superhero vehicle. They worked incredibly hard on their designs and made sure to label and explain what the special functions were on their vehicle. We then used junk modelling to make cars and other types of transport. Independently children carefully selected tools and resources such as: empty boxes, bottle lids, plastic sheets, dotted card, scissors, tape and glue, to make their vehicles.
Congratulations on some excellent learning Cerise Class!
