This week in Year 6 we have been sitting our mock SATs in preparation for the real tests in a few weeks. I have been incredibly proud of how all children have tackled them head on and with a positive attitude- their resilience and motivation has been great to see! The progress that has been made has been brilliant and I can’t wait to watch the children thrive in their exams in the coming weeks. Well done!
In art, we have finished our Manga work and created our own brilliant final pieces inspired by Peach Momoko. All our work is being displayed outside our classrooms and the Manga Gallery looks amazing! We’ve now started looking at ‘Op art’ otherwise known as optical illusion art. It has been fascinating to learn the techniques behind the art and we have enjoyed looking at some famous examples by Bridget Riley. We tried to create our own straight line and contour illusions, using pencils and rulers to create the black and white effect. Accuracy and focus has been crucial in achieving the desired look and the pieces created are looking great!
