Cobalt have had a wonderful term. In English, we have been reading our new text “How the stars came to be”. We have all been memorised with the illustrations and as a class have discussed our likes and dislikes about the text. This week we have been thinking of how we might rewrite the story and make it our own.
In maths we have started learning about Money. We have been comparing and ordering different amounts and using our knowledge of pounds and pence to convert between the two.
We also had a fab time at our Sports Day! While we were sad we couldn’t go to Wells Park as planned, we had fun with all the activities Mr Gibbs set up for us in school. It was great using all the playgrounds and seeing the teachers race too! We really enjoyed cheering each other on and working as a team.
We have also been busy in computing, learning about computational thinking. We have been using key skills to support us in identifying patterns and problems within an algorithm and creating our own codes. It’s been tricky but rewarding work.
In art we have been learning about Dave McKean. We used watercolours and shading techniques to replicate his illustrations. We are excited to now plan and create our very own ink art work in his style!
