Whoa! Year 5 had a wild start to our new topic, “Guardians of the Planet”! 🌎 We were visited by some incredible creatures – a snake, a chameleon, a stick insect, a tarantula, and even a millipede! We learned all about these incredible creatures, the food they eat, and the habitats they need to survive. Some of us were even brave enough to hold them. After getting up close and personal with these amazing animals, we headed back to the classroom to share our newfound knowledge and create fact files about our favourite animal encounters. This exciting experience launched our exploration of “Living Things and Their Habitats” in science, and kicked off our creative journey through “Guardians of the Planet,” which will incorporate science, geography, art, and English. We can’t wait to see what we discover next and learn more about how we can protect amazing creatures like these! 🦎
