Cinnamon class have had a wonderful start to the Summer term. Our topic this term is ‘Let It Grow’ and we used this opportunity to celebrate Earth Day yesterday.
We discovered that Earth Day is celebrated around the world and we discussed what each one of us could do to look after our planet. The children learnt about the traditions behind the Japanese prayer trees and wrote their own wishes which were then hung on trees around the school grounds. They enjoyed a fabulous session in Forest School where they hunted around for minibeasts and found time to do tree rubbings.
In the afternoon, we planted seeds and examined the leaves of different trees around the school grounds for our leaf identification activity.
It was an exciting day filled with lots of laughs, learning and an abundance of sunshine!
Happy Earth Day everyone!
