Copper class have been busy investigating sustainability; researching the advantages and disadvantages of both renewable and non-renewable sources on our environment and economy. Students worked in groups to find, compare and analyse the various sources and through collaborative discussion formulated opinions on the most cost-efficient and sustainable resource.
Solar and wind energy have been the key focus this week. Copper demonstrated their knowledge by creating persuasive advertisements on solar panels. They chose their business name, logo, panel designs, catchphrase and created images to convince their target audience. Students enjoyed investigating wind energy through the design and production of their own wind turbines. They are in the process of making a solar collector to measure the effect of the sun on water.
