Wow! What an exciting start to Year 5 and it is only day 2! Yesterday we spent time learning and discussing our new school values and thinking about how important each of us are in the class. We began creating our pieces for a jigsaw puzzle that shows how we all fit together although we are very different.
In the afternoon on Monday, we began our djembe drumming. As you can see from the photos, we had lots of fun, although a few sore hands afterwards!
Today we are beginning our Reading, English and Maths. Our topic this term is titled: Into Africa, so the book we will be studying in Reading is based in Africa. We don’t want to give too much away!
On Friday we are looking forward to welcoming an African storyteller to school, who is going to share with us some traditional tales and information about some of the cultures in Africa. We’re really looking forward to this.
So, as you can see, an exciting first few days, with many more ahead.
