Last week in English, we began our learning based around the new text, ‘Weslandia’ in our English groups. ‘Weslandia’ is about an outcast named Wesley who is tormented by everybody at his school because he is unique. Wesley is a smart and creative individual who decided to grow his own staple food crop and create his own civilisation. We are working towards creating a non-chronological report about Weslandia or our own lands.
In Maths, we continued using the formal column subtraction, progressing on to calculations involving more than one exchange and also completed our final maths assessment. This week, we will be solving missing number problems and doing some word problems.
In Geography, we worked as a class to write a letter to the Right Honourable Greg Clark, asking him to stop deforestation. Due to the millions of trees cut down every year to create palm oil, orangutans and Sumatran tigers are endangered animals, and will become extinct if we don’t act now.
