This week in Turquoise Class, we have been extremely busy. In Mr Gough’s English group, we have been continuing with retelling ‘The Spider and the Fly’, focusing on using adjectives to add description, and conjunctions to extend our ideas. We have also been trying hard to use the success criteria to help us assess our writing, edit it and make improvements.
In the afternoons, we have continued with lots of creative and cross-curricular topic learning. In Computing, we designed our websites that we will begin to build in the next Computing lesson, using Google Sites. A wide range of websites have been designed, including some children choosing to create a website about The Romans. We have also been doing lots of History. We have learnt about the Celts and discussed the reasons why the Romans invaded Britain.
In Art, we have been learning about printing. We have each designed and created a Roman template – examples include Roman swords and shields. Then we cut the template out and we look forward to using them to print our designs.
