This week, Emerald class have been busy planning and writing their innovated version of ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’. They have been very excited to discuss which animal will swarm their town and what the stranger that arrives will look like and carry.
In Maths, we have been learning our 4 and 8 times tables and linking these to our 2 times tables. It has been tricky but we’re persevering. In computing we’re learning to send e-mails and in Science we are looking at how fossils are made and the components of soil.
In Geography, we have been learning about the structure of volcanoes and how they have benefited the Earth by providing our early atmosphere. In P.E. we have been practising our ball skills and learning tennis with Mr Gibbs. In PSHCE, we have been learning to resolve conflicts in group work while designing a suitable garden for a person who faces challenges e.g., uses a wheel chair or has limited vision.
We’re continuing to practise joining letters for handwriting. We have particularly loved seeing children’s home learning and have shared our poems, pictures and 3D volcano models. Some of us have sent the school videos of the volcanoes exploding! If you would like to send your teacher a video, please e-mail admin@kelvingrove.lewisham.sch.uk and state ‘For Ms Nandhra / Heron Njie / Whyte’ in your subject line.
