Today we went over to feed the cows and the calves. Some of the calves have only just been born, so we are not allowed to touch them yet. Some of the big cows were being artificially inseminated by farmer John. After they give birth to their calves, the cows are milked two to three times per day.

We were so amazed to see the robot milking system. The cows choose when to go in and be milked and the the milking goes on for 24 hours (night and day!). There are two of these machines and they cost over £100,00 each.
