Our main topic this term is ‘Out of this World’. We are studying a book in reading called ‘The Race to Space’, through which we are learning all about how the USA and USSR were battling to be the first into space. It has taught us so much about how far we have come in our technological understanding.

In our English lessons, we have just started to read ‘Hidden Figures’. It has inspired all of us, as it has shown that in the 1950s and 1960s, black women had to ‘fight’ to have jobs that were equal to men, and that racial prejudice is unacceptable and unjust.

Through Science we are learning about our solar system and how the planets orbit around the sun. Also, we are learning about how we have different time zones, seasons and different times of the day – it is SO fascinating to find out about somethings we have just taken for granted.

We are really looking forward to going to the Planetarium in Greenwich next week – we know that we will find out so much that we don’t already know!
