Over the past few weeks, we’ve been studying the text ‘Coming to England’ by Floella Benjamin. We have written letters and diary entries, and we’re aiming to write her biography over the next couple of weeks. Life in Trinidad sounds so very different from our lives here in the U.K.
In Guided Reading, we have just finished reading a book called ‘Africa, Amazing Africa’ by Atinuke. Through reading this text, we’ve read and discussed so many fascinating facts about all of the African countries. We would definitely recommend this book to anyone! Did you know that Libya can go without rain for ten, twenty or thirty years? Did you know that Algeria is the largest country in Africa? That’s unbelievable!
In Science, we’ve been learning about forces. We discovered that opposite poles are attracted to each other while the same poles will repel each other. This week we wanted to find out which magnet was the strongest. Today we tried a range of magnets: a bar magnet, a button magnet, a wand and a horseshoe magnet. Which one do you predict will be the strongest?
It’s been a phenomenal couple of weeks and we’re really looking forwards to Sports Day on Monday afternoon!
We hope to see you there!
