Azure class have been having so much fun with their new topic, ‘Classification and Conservation’! We began by visiting the centre for Wildlife Gardening to take part in a hands-on session where we were all looking for living things in different mini-habitats. We did bush whacking in the wild garden areas, pond dipping and log rolling. Amazingly, we found spiders, newts, centipedes, grasshoppers, toads and much more! We used a classification key to identify each living thing by looking at their characteristics and answering ‘yes’ ‘no’ questions.
In art, we have been learning about the life and work of Yayoi Kusuma. Her passion for dots inspired us to create our own pop art using infinity nets and we finished by creating pumpkin sculptures decorated with bright contrasting dots!
In English, we have been reading a fantastic book called ‘Varjak Paw’ which is full of feline adventure and mystery. Now, we are writing a newspaper article about the mysterious events in the story and so far we have three possible suspects! That’s all we can reveal for now!
