This week in Jade Class we have been busy learning all about light and shadows. We learned that a shadow is formed when an object blocks the light. We found out that objects can be opaque, translucent or transparent.
In maths this week, we learnt how to subtract from a 3-digit number using various written methods to help us solve problems such as drawing number lines, place value counters and number sentences. We are now moving onto learning how to subtract using the formal column method!
In English, we have been enjoying reading the story of ‘Sulwe’ written by Lupita Nyongo. In the story, Sulwe wants to be beautiful and learns her own unique beauty through a magical journey in the night. This inspired us to write a persuasive letter in role as the character ‘Night’ to her sister.
As well as all the hard work in class, we have busy preparing for our Carol Concert on 12th December.
