This week, Turquoise class have been extremely busy in Maths. We have been dividing 2 digit numbers by 10, firstly using a place value chart but we soon began to spot a pattern and we moved on to solving it mentally. We have also been recognising hundredths and writing hundredths as decimals.
We finished our writing outcome for Varjak Paw last week so we have continued reading the story in Whole Class Reading, we can’t wait to find out who is behind the cat kidnappings! In English we are preparing to start our final text of the academic year, ‘How the Stars Came to Be.’ We will be beginning that tomorrow by making predictions using the title and the images on the front cover.
This term in Science, we have been learning about classification as part of our Living Things and Their Habitats topic. We have grouped animals in different ways, learnt facts about different vertebrates and also created our own classification keys. On Wednesday, we went on a trip to Wells Park where we looked at different habitats and the animals that live there. We also learnt about how animals and plants adapt to their surroundings.
