Over the last two weeks, in geography, the children in Cinnamon Class have been learning all about the polar regions. They have been comparing the human and physical features in the Arctic and the Antarctic with those in countries on the Equator, specifically Kenya. They have learned about the different climates and weather in different places too. Did you know that the Arctic and Antarctic have both have very cold, very dry polar climates, whereas countries on the Equator often have tropical climates? Although it’s on the Equator, Kenya has three different climates, depending on where you are in the country! In English, the children have been writing fact files so that they can share all of the learning from their geography lessons.
In maths, the children have been learning how to add together two 2-digit numbers. Now they are moving onto subtracting one 2-digit number from another. They have been very enthusiastic and quick to learn the methods that they have been taught.
