Ochre Class are delighted to be back at school, and as always, it’s been a whirlwind! Already we have dived in to some poetry and are learning a poem called Bush Fire, we also created our own paintings inspired by the poem. We have been reciting the poem and creating our own actions to support learning the verses. Due to the rainy weather we had to move our P.E. lesson in the hall this week but that didn’t stop us practising our ball control and throwing techniques. We are making excellent progress and can’t wait to get stuck in with more practice next week!
This term we will be learning all about collage in our art lessons. We have started by looking at an artist called Charles McGee who we thought had pretty cool shapes and patterns in his work. He made amazing 3D sculptural collages using black and white patterns and marks. This week, we practised our own mark making and then developed these in our sketchbook. By the end of the term we will have created our very own 3D collage display.
