It’s our last term at KG and we have been incredibly busy trying to get ourselves ready to say our final goodbyes! We started rehearsals for our end of year performance and are singing some classics we will perform for our parents. The rehearsals are going well and we sound great; we can’t wait for you to hear them! Not only are we preparing for this, we have also started working on our yearbooks: taking fun class photos and new headshots, writing our individual entries and remembering some great highlights of our time at Kelvin Grove.
In the afternoons, some children from Year 6 have been helping Mrs Jupp in the school garden, Mr Murray in Forrest School and visiting the younger years – offering assistance to classes and teachers. This week we have been helping Year 1 children play games at playtimes and complete their work in Science and PSHE lessons. We really enjoy getting to see our old teachers and helping the younger children.
Alongside all of this, we are still tackling writing biographies in English about a significant person, calculating the costs of our bespoke Theme Park in Maths, and have also dived into the wonderful world of optical art and tessellations. On Thursday, we also had an oracy-based PSHE lesson and were lucky enough to be visited by Miss Magee; she was very impressed with our talking skills and the way in which we were able to articulate our ideas as well as build on others’ responses.
We can’t believe we’ve only got 5 weeks left at Kelvin Grove. Time really does fly when you’re having fun! 🙂
