Our topic this term in Year 1 is Amazing Animals. In English, the children both at school and at home have been basing their work around a story called ‘The Lion Inside’ by Rachel Bright. They have looked closely at the characters in the story, describing what they are like as well as comparing how the character’s personalities develop. The children also wrote about how they would find the lion inside them in order to do something brave.
The children also started the term learning about winter, describing and explaining some of the key features of this season. They then went on to learn all about different animal groups, creating posters to give information about their favourite animal.
