Headteacher's Message
Happy New Year to you all. Thank you so much for your support and understanding during the challenging last couple of weeks of the autumn term. COVID numbers rose rapidly across the school community and as they did, guidelines and advice changed too.
It is clear, and rightly so, that whenever possible schools should remain open. The greatest risk to school closure, or part closure, is lack of staff. We therefore will continue to take every precaution we can to reduce the risk of any cases spreading across our community. Hand hygiene, ventilation, cleaning and following guidelines on symptomatic children/adults and isolation will continue.
Despite all that was happening around us, we were able to hold all of our assessment meetings. The meetings allow us to focus closely on the learning of every child across the school and the huge amount of work teachers and support staff are putting in to ensure good progress.
Please engage with our website and celebrate with me the fantastic curriculum on offer here at Kelvin Grove.

Governors' News
From the Governors
Welcome back to all our families and staff. We hope everyone had a good festive break. We are also hoping that 2022 provides a more stable and certain environment for everyone.
Whilst we have a view of the full school in our Governor duties, we have specific areas of focus for the year. So this term we will be continuing to look at race equality; digital; SEND; wellbeing; and parental engagement.
Towards the end of last term we formed a new PTA, which we are incredibly excited about. Please watch this space for further news where we will be letting you know who the committee members are and how you can get involved.
If you have any thoughts on any of the above areas, or would like to know more, please email us on governors@kelvingrove.lewisham.sch.uk

One Tree Hill Choir
We are a friendly, inclusive choir (we do not audition) and under the conductorship of Ben Vonberg Clark https://www.benvonberg-clark.com/ we have a varied programme. We meet at St Saviour’s Church, on Tuesdays during Term time. 7.15-8.30pm. This term we are aiming to hold a concert at the end of March and we are singing excerpts from West Side Story as well as excerpts from Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms.
Our members come from all around the SE London area and majorly the SEs: 4, 15, 19, 22, 23, 26. Our charity partner is St Christopher’s Hospice and we donate to them a percentage of our concert takings.
